DESCRIPTION
The 138 metre long command and support ship Absalon can perform a number of national and international tasks: transportation of personal and material, functioning as a command platform for land, air and sea operations, mine laying, and carrying out humanitarian operations as a hospital ship.

The ship is fitted with a 900 square meter flexible deck to perform in different operations and has a roll-on-roll-off (RO/RO) capacity aft. During 2008-2010, it participated in patrolling and capturing pirates in the waters around Somalia.
